Local Lodge 1930 City Beat News  NEGOTIATIONS ARE DONE4/28/2008WE HAVE A NEW M.O.U.!!! The new M.O.U. that was negotiated by your negotiating committee was ratified over a three day period beginning April 23rd and concluding on April 25th at 6:30 p.m. The final results of the vote were: 1,114 in favor and 42 against!!! You overwhelmingly cast your votes in support of the agreement that your committee obtained from the City. The next step is to have City Council vote on the agreement. We understood that they would probably vote on it at the May 13th session, but recent word out of City Hall is that they may vote on it as soon as May 6th. Please keep an eye on this site and as we receive more information, we will pass it along. In the meantime, we want to thank all of our members for being patient and understanding as this process went on. Your participation and support is a true testament to your committment to make Long Beach a great place to work. Now, the real work begins!!! |
